The area is located south of the Number 1 Highway and across from the BCIT Campus. It is bordered by Canada Way, Willingdon Ave, Boundary Ave and Moscrop St.

It is a university – affiliated hospital with the University of British Columbia. There is a village of shops, cafes and services in the area at Canada Way and Smith and down on Sunset and Smith.  Close to the centre of Burnaby Hospital is Avondale Park. The neighbouring Greentree Village’s BCIT has a very strong influence in the Burnaby Hospital area as it creates a learning environment in the area. EA Sports and LifeLabs are two technology companies that have set up offices in the area. This is an up-coming neighborhood for fairly young residents. Being located in between Metrotown and Brentwood gives the residents in this area many options for shopping, entertainment and restaurants to choose from. Close to walking trails in Deer Lake Park with all the amenities of a beautiful park has to offer.

Townhouses, low rises and detached houses make up the majority of the market in the Burnaby Hospital Area.

Central Burnaby surrounds the southern part of the Brentwood Park neighbourhood and is situated between Lougheed highway and Canada Way. The majority of the residential area is on the south side of the #1 Hwy.

Some major areas that surround Central Burnaby would include BCIT, Burnaby Hospital, Metrotown and Brentwood Town Centre.  The Southern section of Central Burnaby is close to Burnaby Hospital’s village of shops, cafes and services at Canada Way and Smith. Central Burnaby residents enjoy Broadview Park with tennis courts, green space and trails. Plus Harwood Park with its baseball diamond and Macey Park. Central Park

Central Park area is in close proximity to Metrotown, Crystal Mall, Old Orchard Shopping Centre, and Kingsway that houses a diverse selection of restaurants, retail stores, shopping and entertainment. Central Park is also nearby Deer Lake Park, Bonsor Community Centre and the Burnaby Public Library.   Large detached homes, townhouses and condos make up the residential landscape.  The residential area of Central Park is on the north side of Kingsway. Residents have easy access to the Patterson, and Joyce SkyTrain stations.

Most notably, the neighborhood is home to Central Park, an urban park that boasts an extensive walking trail network, two lakes, Swanguard Stadium, an outdoor pool and Pitch and Putt. This park offers diverse recreational activities year round and its immense size allows for nature walks right in the middle of the city.

Garden Village

Garden Village is a very safe, young family neighbourhood with lots of community spirit that is evident in how many people know their neighbours. Halloween is always a community get together. Unfortunately, not all neighbourhoods have this type of community spirit and I feel it is reminiscent of the early days where most areas had a neighbourhood feel where each neighbour looked out for each other!

It is a small neighborhood that has some view properties. It is marked by Willingdon Ave on the east, Inman St on the west and by Moscrop and Burke Street in the north and south respectively.  Detached houses for sale make up the majority of the residential real estate market in this area.

It is close to several elementary schools, a secondary school and BCIT. Everything a family needs in one area.  Garden Village has a few neighborhood restaurants located in the northeast corner of the area. In addition, it is located in close to BCIT, Metrotown, restaurants and other essential amenities. Wesburn Park is situated in the northwest corner of Garden Village and has great amenities such as a sports field, baseball diamond, basketball court and a seasonal outdoor wading pool. Other amenities include a playground and picnic area for family friendly events. As the cherry on top, Central Park is located just minutes away and offers residents living in Garden Village quick and easy access to its network of trails.
