Three Free Canada Day Events Across Burnaby, From Morning Programs to an Evening Concert and Fireworks Finale
Canada Day falls on Wednesday, July 1, and Burnaby is marking the occasion with three free community events presented in partnership with Concord Pacific. Together they bring multicultural entertainment, games, activities, food, live performances, and a fireworks finale to neighbourhoods across the city. Here is what each event offers, from the morning programs to the evening concert.
Edmonds Plaza and Park
The day opens at Edmonds with a community gathering built around live entertainment, activities for children, games, and cake. It runs through the morning and early afternoon, an easy first stop before the later programs.
Burnaby Village Museum
This 10-acre open-air museum traces the histories of Burnaby’s diverse communities. The free festivities include multicultural family entertainment, displays and demonstrations, children’s face-painting, and hands-on activities. Exhibits stay open through the afternoon, with staff on hand to share the stories behind them.
StreetFest on Central
StreetFest on Central is Burnaby’s main Canada Day evening celebration, presented with partner Concord Pacific. The lineup features musical performances by Dragonette, Alicia Creti, Logan Staats, and Jordel, followed by a fireworks finale to close the night. Food trucks, a family zone at Civic Square, and activities for all ages run along Central Boulevard.
Transit makes the evening straightforward: Patterson and Metrotown SkyTrain stations both sit within reach of the site, and the Metrotown bus loop provides a direct connection.
